The American Association of Italian (AATI) turned 100 in 1923, while our noted journal,ÌýItalica is celebrating its centennial in 2024! In honor of both anniversaries, we are launching a capital campaign.
The Âܲ·AVÊÓƵhas long been committed to supporting graduate students and junior faculty as they enter the field of Italian Studies. For over a decade, we have organized workshops and conference sessions designed to help graduate students become active contributors to the discipline. Our initiatives include "Dissertations in Progress" sessions and other specialized panels focused on publishing in academic journals and securing contracts for first manuscripts. We have also provided travel grants for graduate students and contingent faculty for many years. This capital campaign aims to endow these efforts and expand opportunities for these key groups, offering research grants, funding for professional development and networking, and much more. In addition, we hope to endow important and expert speakers at Âܲ·AVÊÓƵannual events.
